Theme of Furry R Con
Imagine a place where time slows down for a while. Where you trade the noise of the city for the rustle of the forest, notifications for the crackling of a fire, and stress for laughter with friends. That’s exactly what Furry R Con is about.
The theme of the con is built on a simple yet magical idea: going back. Back to times when it didn’t take much for a day to feel perfect. Back to the era of cassette tapes, retro games, and music that makes you dance without thinking. Back to the feeling of a “school in nature” — but this time without teachers and with the complete freedom to be yourself.
The entire con is soaked in the retro atmosphere of the ’80s and ’90s. Neon colors, old-school technology, iconic tunes, and nostalgia that catches you before you even realize it. Whether you come to play classic games, sing your heart out at karaoke, or simply go with the vibe, you’ll always be part of something that feels familiar — yet special.
But the most important part? The people.
Furry R Con is about community — about meetings that turn into friendships, moments that happen spontaneously, and a space where you can be exactly who you want to be. Fursuits, art, laughter, inside jokes, and quiet conversations by the lake — it all belongs here.
Nature isn’t just a backdrop here — it’s part of the experience. In the morning, fresh air wakes you up; during the day, you can explore the surroundings or just lie in the grass; and in the evening… the evening belongs to the campfire, music, and stories you won’t forget.
The program flows naturally — a bit of fun, a bit of rest, a bit of chaos (the good kind). Games, dancing, karaoke, themed evenings… but also doing absolutely nothing, which is completely okay here.
Furry R Con isn’t just a con.
It’s a small escape into a world where things make sense in a simpler way. Where nostalgia meets the present, and where you take away more than just memories — you take away a feeling.
Capacity is limited to keep the cozy atmosphere just right.
And yes, it’s 18+ — because some things are best enjoyed as an adult.
FurryBA & Furry R Con
Together, the teams behind Furry R Con and FurryBA create memorable experiences for both the local and international furry community. Our goal is to provide a welcoming space where people can relax, make new friendships, reconnect with old friends, and enjoy fun activities surrounded by nature.
We continuously work on expanding our events and introducing new activities so that every attendee can find something they enjoy — whether it’s gaming, music, socializing, outdoor activities, or simply spending time with the community.
Since 2023, the FurryBA team has organized some of the largest furry outings in Slovakia. In 2024, FurryBA and Furry R Con joined forces to create their own unique convention experience — Furry R Con.
Furry R Con is a multi-day retro-themed furry convention held in the village of Jelenec, Slovakia, at the Chata pod Gýmešom venue. The event combines a cozy community atmosphere with retro-inspired entertainment, including themed parties, arcade games, karaoke, outdoor activities, and many other experiences throughout the weekend.

Location and Transportation
Furry R Con takes place at the Chata pod Gýmešom venue near the village of Jelenec in the Nitra Region of Slovakia, in the Remitáž area.
If you are arriving by car, enter the following destination into your navigation system:
“Chata pod Gýmešom, Gýmeš”
Parking for attendees is available near the venue.

If you are traveling by public transport, buses from the Nitra bus station to Jelenec usually depart approximately every 40 minutes on Friday, with more frequent departures during afternoon peak hours.
Exit at the Jelenec OcÚ (Municipal Office) stop. From there, walk back slightly, turn right onto Nový Gýmeš street, and continue following the signs toward the venue. The walk takes approximately 30–40 minutes.
After the convention ends on Sunday, buses from Jelenec to Nitra usually depart approximately every two hours.
If necessary, attendees may contact the organizing team regarding transportation assistance to Jelenec or Nitra.
Food and Fefreshment
Meals will be served in the dining hall of the main building for attendees who selected meal options during registration.
Meal serving times will be announced later in the convention schedule and will also be available on-site.
We can provide:
- vegetarian,
- vegan,
- lactose-free,
- gluten-free,
- or allergen-free meal options upon request.
Special dietary requirements must be reported to the organizing team at least two weeks before the convention. Without prior notice, alternative meals cannot be guaranteed.
If you did not purchase meal options, the nearest grocery store is located in the village of Jelenec.
Opening hours:
- Friday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Sunday: 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM
There will also be a drinks bar available within the convention area, offering Kofola, beer, and other beverages.
The bar will be open daily from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Cash payments only.
The nearest ATM is located in Nitra, either at Centro shopping center or at the main bus station.
Additional Information
Please keep in mind that the convention takes place outside the village in a recreational cottage area surrounded by nature.
Most activities and program events will take place outdoors, so we strongly recommend checking the weather forecast and bringing suitable clothing.
We recommend bringing:
- comfortable outdoor clothing,
- spare clothes,
- long-sleeved clothing,
- a raincoat or umbrella,
- sunscreen,
- insect repellent.
When choosing clothing and accessories, please remember that the venue area is shared with other visitors and local residents. We kindly ask all attendees to help maintain a respectful and welcoming atmosphere.
The following are not permitted:
- NSFW or adult-themed clothing and accessories,
- political or war-related symbols,
- controversial or provocative content,
- or flags/symbols that may cause conflicts or negative reactions.
If you are unsure whether specific clothing or accessories are appropriate, please contact the organizing team for clarification.
